Laura Hunsaker writes about the Scottish Highlands, but with a twist. She is a hybrid author being both traditionally published and self-published, as well as a member of Romance Writers of America® Cactus Rose Chapter and the Celtic Hearts Romance Writers.
After earning degrees in both English and German Studies, and a specialty in British Literature; Laura decided to become a teacher. As of now, Laura has a full-time job as mom of 3 and focuses on writing Scottish Time Travel Romance and Paranormal Romance.
The Highland Hussy, as she’s known on social media, will continue writing about those hunky Highlanders as long as fans keep reading. Laura admits, ” I’m not gonna lie to you, I’d probably write them anyways. I mean, who doesn’t love a hot Scot?”
What made you start writing romance? I’ve always loved reading romance, and as I started writing way back in my teen years, I don’t think I intended it to be a “romance,” but somehow they all turned out that way. By the time I had decided to actually write (and finish!) a book, I’d realized of course it would be romance. I mean who doesn’t like happily ever afters?
What inspired your current release? Heather Lire, contemporary romance author, and I decided we wanted to write something together, and an opportunity presented itself to write hockey romance with a paranormal edge. How could we say no?
What about the hero and heroine made you want to see them together? I love that they have a bit of history together, and when they have to work together for a hockey expo game for a charity, the sparks fly.
If your book becomes a movie, who would play the hero and heroine? Alexander Skarsgard would be Reiner, and Amy Adams would be Emma.
What are you working on next? I’m just finishing up a Romantic Suspense called Dark Past, and that one’s under my Laura Hunsaker name.
Kenzie MacLir is the combined personality of contemporary romance author Heather Lire, and Scottish Romance author Laura Hunsaker. One night they decided to pool their creativity and start writing together. They spend their days chauffeuring their kids to all of their various activities and their nights plotting how to torture their characters. Between Highlanders and hockey players, there’s a story for everyone.
His head descended, slowly, giving her plenty of time to say no. There was no way on God’s green earth she was saying no to a kiss from Reiner Jahr. Did she have stupid written all over her face?
His lips brushed hers gently, but it wasn’t enough. She wanted more. His mouth nipped and teased, never pushing her, but not taking the invitation her parted lips offered.
Warm lips pressed against the corner of her mouth, drifted down her jawline, never coming
back to her lips, instead settling against her pulse. When his teeth scraped her throat, she gasped. Emma pressed her body even more fully against his, fitting herself into him, damn near wanting to climb him. Reiner dragged his tongue up to her earlobe and nipped her.
Her hips shifted against his, and Reiner fisted her hair, dragged his mouth back to hers, and kissed her. Kiss was too tame a word. He plundered. He devoured. He conquered…
